General Announcements

Attention National Honor Society Juniors and sophomores with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Please see Mrs. Lobser in the Enrichment Room this week if you are interested in being trained to become an Academic Peer Coach for next year.

Beginning in the fall of 2006, Mandarin Chinese I will be offered. It will primarily consist of learning about the culture of China. The speaking portion of the language will be taught at a basic level and will include common expressions and useful dialogues. Basic writing and listening skills will also be addressed. The class will be small and is by audition only. If interested, please contact Mrs. Condon.

Tickets for "The Sound of Music" will be sold during lunch next to the Guidance office all this week. Don't miss it!

Students who wish to participate on a publication staff, Yearbook, Newspaper or Video, you need to submit applications no later than this Friday. Return the applications to the main office or to journalism in room E8. If you did not get an application, there is still time, just pick one up in E8.

Attention NHS members!! The results of Wednesday's election are in. The juniors who will be serving as next year's NHS officers are: Stacie Carter, Katie Grauel, Amy Johnson, Matt Leisy and Jennifer Sneden. Congratulations! Officers will be contacted for an orientation meeting.

Attention Mathematicians! Today is the last Colorado Math League Competition! Please do your very best to keep Arapahoe as one of the top ranking schools in the state of Colorado!! Go Arapahoe!!

Seniors: The scholarship you have been waiting for and asking about is NOW available. The JEM scholarship application is available in the Post Grad Center. Return completed application to Mrs. Brady in the Guidance Center by deadline date of Friday, May 5, 2006.

Have you always wanted to use the school loud speaker? Would you like sharing the Arapahoe news for the day? If you are interested in reading the daily announcements next year, sign up for auditions in the Main Office. Deadline to sign up is April 21. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Ayres in the Attendance Office.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Golf Team for their 3rd place finish in the Norse Ranch Invite. High scores from the team came from Christine Decker and Aubrey Dreessen who both had scores in the 90’s. Jenna Hennemann and Megan Ray also contributed greatly to their outstanding finish. Good luck today to the Varsity and JV teams!

The girls gold lacrosse team had a terrific victory over Smoky Hill on Monday with a score of 8 to 6. scoring for the Warriors were:
Shelli Marr 3 goals; Julie Sorenson 1 goal 1 assist; Gracy Barfoot 1 goal
Courtney Thompson 1 goal; Hanna Hoopingarner 1 goal; Aubrey Pullara 1 goal Katherine McClard 1 assist; Shaeli Redman with a least 7 saves

JV Lacrosse Black Team won another decisive victory over Ft Collins last night with 7 goal, three of those scored by Paul Komatz with a great assist by Eric Romsdahl. Goalie Ryan Elliot only let in 2 goals for Ft Collins. Congrats to our freshman who played outstanding ball Michael Griffin, Philip Englert and Beansie! Augie get better quick!!

Great Job AHS girls black Lacrosse team on your victorys against Kent Denver, 8-6 and Columbine 16-1. Scoring for the Warriors in both games were: Jordan Faessler, Emma Van Vranken, Brittany Misagadis, Ally Day, Katherine Igo, Maggie Westhoff, Maggie Takacs, Katie Graul, Amy Lingred, Ally Harden and Sarah Smith. The Black team is still undefeated!!
