General Announcements

The Environmental Science field trip for today has been cancelled. Students should report to their regular classes.

Do you have talent? Would you like to be part of the Prom Talent Show? If you do, sign up to try out in the main office. Tryout times are from 2:45-4:30pm on Monday, April 10th and Tuesday, April 11th, in Room N2 & N3.

The 2006 summer school catalogs are now available in the guidance office and the front office.

Juniors and Seniors if you are taking a date from another school to the Prom and/or After Prom, please pick up and fill out the form for you and your date. The forms are located in either the Activities office/Dean of Students, Attendance office, or the Main office. The deadline to return this form is May 3.

Want to make a lasting impression on your graduating class? Then audition to speak at graduation!! Auditions are Monday, April 17, 2006 in the forum. You must sign up at Mrs. Sislers’ desk in the guidance office. Questions? Please see Mrs. Ackerman or Mrs. Graham in the English office.

Lo siento, which means "I'm sorry in Spanish" of course, but the wonderful shoebox has mysteriously disappeared from the Foreign Language office. An investigation is pending. In the mean time, please give your submissions to Mrs. Melin for the Film Festival. Thanks to those of you who have submitted already; we appreciate your interest. The deadline is April 7th, this Friday, so hurry!

This week is National Week of Student Action, and Amnesty International will be showing Invisible Children on Friday, April 7th after school in room E-9. Food and drinks will be offered, anyone is welcome to come.

Attention all Student Council Members and Officers! We need your help today after school with Wish Week clean up. Please take time to take down posters, and stars before going to your sport practices and other activities.

Students residing in Greenwood Village: Please stop by the Post Grad Center to pick up an application for a volunteer position with the Greenwood Village City Council. Applications are due by Thursday, 4/20/2006.

AHS, thank you for your support this week with our 5th Annual Wish Week. The basketball game last night was a huge success. Thanks to our senior students and our faculty for playing. Thanks also to our Refs, Mr. Booth and Mr. Fay, our school pep band, cheerleaders and a special thank you to our faculty cheerleaders for their entertainment. The senior Wave Crashers won the game. We will announce our Wish Week total next week. We are confident that with your support we will be sending our two Wish Kids on their dream vacations.

The Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team scores another victory!! Last night the Varsity Lacrosse Girls beat Columbine 18-5. Scoring for the Warriors were:

ATTENTION ARAPAHOE SWIMMERS:
THOSE OF YOU NOT ATTENDING THE MEET AT CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND PRACTICE FROM 3:00 PM TO 4:30 PM.

The JV black girls tennis team tied Denver School of Science and Technology on Thursday. Winning for AHS were doubles teams of Scarpa and Carmickle; Thompson and Lawler; McDaniel and Cooper; and Bocanegra and Ryan. Well done girls.

Attention all girls interested in playing softball next season. There will be a short meeting in room N-5 on Monday April 10th immediately. If you unable to attend, please see Coach Fazio in the Special Services office.

Attention all you Warriors trying out for Cheerleading for the 2006-2007 school year! All applications and physical forms are due to the Athletic Office by Wednesday, April 12th. If you did not attend the parent meeting and are still interested in trying out, please contact Ms. Pramenko ASAP!

The girl's varsity tennis team defeated Mountain Vista yesterday by a score of 6-1. Winning for the varsity were: Lauren Craig; Suzanne Chang; Jenna Dornseif and Celeste Lorenzo; Erin Schulhof and Lauren Stemper; Katie Maxey and Laine Pacetti; Annie Lorenzo and Jenny Morris.

Attention Girls Golf: There is no practice today!

Congratulations to the JV Girls Golf team on their second place finish in the first JV League Golf Tournament. AHS took second place with the help of low scores by Michelle Gutknecht, Carrie Barker and Anny Lim.
Scores in the 40’s from Leslie McGetrick and Megan Ray each helped our Varsity Golfers finish in the top five at the League Tournament on Tuesday.

The Non-Varsity girls track team came away with a overwhelming victory yesterday in a very cold/windy meet, over Mountain Vista and Littleton.
Individual first place winner were: Devo Holland 100 m. dash, Molly Fleming 400 m. dash, Carolyn Pasque 800 m. run and high jump, Audrie Daley 200 m. dash, Emily Thompson long jump and triple jump, and Meagan Jane discus. Excellent meet ladies in harsh conditions.
