General Announcements

Attention all Advanced Placement Students: It is time to pay for your AP exams! See Mrs. Bresloff in the Guidance Center by April 14th.

Do you have talent? Would you like to be part of the Prom Talent Show? If you do, sign up to try out in the main office. Tryout times are from 2:45-4:30pm on Monday, April 10th and Tuesday, April 11th, in Room N2 & N3.

The 2006 summer school catalogs are now available in the guidance office and the front office.

Juniors and Seniors if you are taking a date from another school to the Prom and/or After Prom, please pick up and fill out the form for you and your date. The forms are located in either the Activities office/Dean of Students, Attendance office, or the Main office. The deadline to return this form is May 3.

Want to make a lasting impression on your graduating class? Then audition to speak at graduation!! Auditions are Monday, April 17, 2006 in the forum. You must sign up at Mrs. Sislers’ desk in the guidance office. Questions? Please see Mrs. Ackerman or Mrs. Graham in the English office.

Lo siento, which means "I'm sorry in Spanish" of course, but the wonderful shoebox has mysteriously disappeared from the Foreign Language office. An investigation is pending. In the mean time, please give your submissions to Mrs. Melin for the Film Festival. Thanks to those of you who have submitted already; we appreciate your interest. The deadline is April 7th, this Friday, so hurry!

This week is National Week of Student Action, and Amnesty International will be showing Invisible Children on Friday, April 7th after school in room E-9. Food and drinks will be offered, anyone is welcome to come.

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?? TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT ARAPAHOE! The Faculty HULA HOOPSTERS of AHS are ready to play the Senior Student Wave Crushers. You won’t want to miss this event! Come to the game tonight at 7pm. You can buy Tickets at lunch today or at the door. The cost is $3.00.

Congratulation to all Technology Ed students that competed in the 4th annual LPS ‘CO2 Dragster Nationals’ last night! Special congratulation goes to the follow 4 students who swept the top 4 spots for Arapahoe. 1st place - Austin Darricau, 2nd place- Jeff Treftz, 3rd went to Steven Beech, and Alex Brants captured 4th. Great job!!!

Athletics

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team. Last night they beat Regis 17-11. Scoring for Arapahoe were Chloe Adelmann, 5 Goals; Adison Rounds, 4 Goals, 4 Assists; Kate Spring, 2 Goals, 1 Assist; Katie Gerhard, 2 Goals; Stacey Birlson, 1 Goal, 2 Assists; Kristen Hosek, 1 Goal, 1 Assist; Hadley Bush, 1 Goal; and Rachel Timmons, 1 Goal. This was truly a team effort. Way to play Ladies!!

The Lady Warriors Track team is the 2006 City Track Meet Champions with a great team effort by beating Littleton and Heritage with a score of 82.5 points. Individual City champions for this year are: Chelsea Chen in the long jump, Michelle Ripple in the pole vault, Ashley Seastone in the triple jump, Denise Matton in the shot put and Cynthia Johnson in the discus. Wonderful meet ladies.

Attention all girls interested in playing softball next season. There will be a short meeting in room N-5 on Monday April 10th, immediately after school. If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Fazio in the Special Services office.

Congratulations to the Lady Warriors of the JV Girls' Lax Team for their 8-2 victory over Regis on Wednesday. Diana Hentschel scored 3 goals, Emily Fiske had 3 goals and an assist, Allison Foley scored 1 goal, Lisa Richardson - 1 goal, and Anneliese Clark had an assist. Lindsey Mast posted 7 saves in the game. Great job!

The Arapahoe boy’s track and field team competed in the city championships yesterday at LPS stadium. There were two individual city champions: Adam Glenn won the 800m dash in a time of 2:00.6 and Dylan Peirpont won the high jump with a leap of 6' 00". A special congratulation goes out to Jason Saas for smashing the 60 second barrier in the 400m dash.
