General Announcements

Attention all Advanced Placement Students: It is time to pay for your AP exams! See Mrs. Bresloff in the Guidance Center by April 14th.

Do you have talent? Would you like to be part of the Prom Talent Show? If you do, sign up to try out in the main office. Tryout times are from 2:45-4:30pm on Monday, April 10th and Tuesday, April 11th.

Attention National Honor Society Members! Elections for next year will be held in the Forum after school today. All NHS juniors are encouraged to attend. See you there.

The Arapahoe Rescue Patrol is looking for a few good young men and women. AHS freshmen, sophomores and juniors, this is your big opportunity! Attend a briefing meeting today at 7PM or get information online. More information is available in the Post Grad Center.

Outstanding students of AHS: Porter Adventist Hospital is organizing its summer Junior Volunteer program. It is a great opportunity to serve our community, help others and explore the health care field. More information is available in the Post Grad Center.

Junior girls: Wellesley College invites you to Junior Open Campus Day on Saturday, April 29th. It is a day of exploration and information gathering at a well-respected women's college. The Post Grad Center has more information.

SENIORS ATTENDING COLLEGE IN COLORADO IN THE FALL: Apply now for one of the 125 available scholarships being awarded by College-Invest in the coming weeks. The total amount of money up for grabs is $400,000 and the application deadline is today. No time to waste! Come to the Post Grad Center.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED at The Wildlife Experience Museum on Saturday, April 15th, to help children celebrate the coming of spring at the Spring EGGstravaganza! Volunteer openings are limited to first come first served. More information is available in the Post Grad Center.

The 2006 summer school catalogs are now available in the guidance office and the front office.

Juniors and Seniors if you are taking a date from another school to the Prom and/or After Prom, please pick up and fill out the form for you and your date. The forms are located in either the Activities office/Dean of Students, Attendance office, or the Main office. The deadline to return this form is May 3.

Congratulations to the our top Jazz Band, “Retrospect,” for being awarded outstanding Trombone and Trumpet Section Plaque Awards at the Mile High Jazz Festival. Also, congratulations to the Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs for being awarded an outstanding combo plaque award – only 2 combos received this special recognition over the 3 day jazz festival!

Athletics

The girls Varsity 2 tennis team defeated Gateway's Varsity 1 team by a score of 6-1. Winning for the Warriors were: Katie Hamlin; Erica Hirsch; Jenn Grierson and Anna Blakney; Sydney Froistad and Taylor Ericson; Stephanie Corder and Annie Robinson; Elizabeth Ordaz and Alyssa Jenkins. Congratulations girls! The girls tennis teams go up against Mountain Vista on Thursday at Mountain Vista.

The Girls Junior Varsity soccer team defeated Mountain Vista 3 – 1 in their league opener yesterday. Scoring for the Warriors were: Haley Cook, Natalie Maes and Briana Bailey. Assists came from: Christy Hillbrand and Haley Cook.
