General Announcements

Juniors and Seniors are invited to sign up for the ASVAB Career Exploration Program – a comprehensive career exploration and planning program designed to help students learn about their interest and explore the world of work. All you have to do to take advantage of this program is take the ASVAB. Testing is scheduled at our school on April 11 at 2:30 pm. Do your best and enjoy all the benefits the ASVAB Program has to offer. For more information or to sign up, see Mrs. Oeinck in the Guidance Office.

THE SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM had great success at the state tournament in Fort Collins this weekend. Public Forum Debate team members Nathan Arnold and Ryan Foley placed in the top 16. Amanda Noel placed tenth in the state in Dramatic Interpretation. And Justin Lambert placed fourth in National Extemporaneous Speaking. Congratulations speech and debate!

Congratulations to the Improv Destination ImagiNation team! They won first place at the South Metro Regional Tournament on Saturday. They also earned the prestigious Renaissance Award for innovation and creativity. Please recognize: Sean Egan, David Ellis, Josh Garties, Kevin Keables, Jake Kilbarger and Bryce Turner.

Congratulations to all members of the Winter Guard who placed 2nd in the prestigious Open Class, at Saturday’s WGI Regional Competition! Arapahoe’s 83.1 was our highest score for the season – way to go ladies!!

Finally, after all the hard work, tough decisions and much deliberation, The Muse, Arapahoe’s Literary Arts magazine will soon be ready to make it’s day-view! Please, all Muse members and anyone interested in art, poetry and writing, we have a meeting after school in C-16 on Wednesday, March 21st. Be prepared and bring your calendars!

Athletics

ATTENTION GUY CHEERS: Please make sure you have returned your permission slip, waiver and check for your t-shirt to Mrs. Scoglio in the main office no later than Friday, March 23rd. You will not be able to participate if they are not turned in.

Congratulations to both the boy’s and girl’s track and field teams for there performances in this past weekends Cherry Creek Relays. The girl’s finished in second place just four points behind Cherry Creek. The boys team finished in first place scoring 123 points to Cherry Creeks 102. We will meet in room W-201 for a short informational meeting. Please bring your fundraiser packets with you.

The girls JV LAX team won over Air Academy Friday night. It was a relatively tight game with some challenging refereeing, but the girls pulled ahead 5-4 in the end. Scoring for the JV Warriors was Aubrey Pullara and Katherine Igoe with 2 goals each, and Katie Gunning with 1 goal. Alee Day had the only assist of the game. Goalie Julia Baker had another fantastic game stopping a lot of tough shots from going in. Congratulations JV!! They take on Heritage on Wednesday night at Cherry Knolls....come at 5:30 to cheer them on!

The Girls Lacrosse C Team defeated Denver East 7 to 5 on Friday. Goals were scored by Kayla Fasold and Heather Saurber. Assists were provided by Molly Witt, Kayla Fasold, and Heather Saurber. The Girls take on Ralston Valley tonight at City Park. GO WARRIORS!!!

Girls Varsity Lacrosse scored another victory last Friday night. They defeated AIr Academy 7-5. Scoring for your Warriors were: Adision Rounds; 2 Goals, 2 Assists; Kristen Hosek; 2 Goals; 1 goal each for Stacey Birlson, Megan O' Donnell, and Kate Spring. Stephanie Curtis had an assist. Please support the team this Wednesday night when they take on major rival Heritage at 7:00 at LPS Stadium.

The JV Boys lacrosse team had another powerful win against Heritage, 7 to 4. Chip Stahmer and Spencer Zepelin had a great stand against their offense with Jake Fields protecting the cage. Goals by Matt Huner (2), Josh Cook (2), Blake Besancon, Logan Chandler and Huner Hall. The team is 4 and 0 for the season!

The Varsity 1 boy's lacrosse team has won again!!!! Friday night the V1 team met up with Heritage down at the beautiful DU stadium and ended the game with an impressive 9-4 win. Way to go Warriors! Ryan Parietti scored 5 goals, Eric Law; 1 goal 3 assists, Drew Babb; 2 goals 1 assist, Matt Pullara; 1 goal and Kevin Law and Bill Mercer had one assist each. Keep up the good work Warriors and thank you fans for coming all the way down to DU to cheer your warriors toward victory. You all showed some great Warrior Pride! Rock Canyon is next!

Student Initiated Groups-

Hey ADR members, we have another very important meeting this Monday after school in room W104!! It will be quick and there will be snacks! We are tightening up our presentation so it is important that everyone tries to make it!
