Congratulations to the Varsity girls’ soccer team who defeated Highlands Ranch by a score of 4 to 0 yesterday. After a lack luster first half, Arapahoe turned it on with a great serve by Megan Flannery, deftly finished by Kaitlin Bast. Caitlin Oliver opened her scoring for the season with two goals, back to back after being set up beautifully Amy Barczuk and newcomer Natalie Maes. Caitlin’s first goal was nicely placed between the wickets of the keeper and the second, a dance move that left the defense frozen. The scoring was rounded out by Lauren Durkin who got her first varsity goal off of an assist by freshman, Abby Elliot. Durkin and her teammates lured the keeper out of position with some savvy ball movement. Other notable defensive performances were by keeper “call me Jo” Swanson, Danny “the terminator” Solich, Ali the Stone Wall and Jen Ratterman. The varsity’s next game will be at LPS Stadium on Thursday at 7:00pm against rival Mountain Vista, come out and cheer ABK on to victory.

The Girls JV soccer team defeated Highlands Ranch yesterday 1 – 0.
