General Announcements

The Colorado department of Education is accepting nominations for the 2009 Colorado Teacher of the Year. Information is available in the Attendance Office.

The acts have been chosen and the Prom Talent Show is almost here. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting Monday, for the 5:00 and 7:30 show on April 24th. Tickets are $5. Prom Royalty will be announced at the 7:30 show, so don’t miss it. Come and you may just see some great dance moves to use at the Prom!

ALL Seniors: Plan to attend a mandatory meeting in the theater on Wednesday, April 23, starting at 10:30 a.m. sharp. This meeting will have important information regarding your graduation.

Spanish Club will be hosting dinner at the Buenos Aires Pizzeria this Wednesday April 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Join us for authentic Argentine food such as empanadas, milanesa, pizza and pasta while learning about the culture of Argentina. The restaurant is owned and operated by a family from Buenos Aires and all food is homemade. The restaurant is located at 22nd & Larimer downtown and there is free parking. See Ms. DiSepio for more details!

The cast and crew of “Beauty and the Beast” would like to thank you for your support you were great audiences and we had a great time. If anyone wants a magic rose please see Mr. Earley before the magic wears off.

Next Monday and Tuesday the Company class will present “Death of a Salesman” and “The Glass Menagerie” at 5:00 and 7:30. Tickets available from Company members or see Mr. Earley. Seating is limited.

Attention all Arapahoe students: Do you have spring fever? Well, get your crazy out at Habitat for Humanity's Wacky Tacky Dance on Friday, May 2. Wear a wacky costume and bring your friends because students from all high schools are welcome. Tickets are $12 and go on sale Monday, April 28 during both lunches.

Attention Knowledge Trivia Enthusiasts! The Spring Knowledge Master Open Competition is scheduled for Monday, April 21st after school in Room E-9. Please see Mrs. Lobser in the Enrichment Room to verify your participation!

Amnesty International invites you to join us tonight from 7-9pm in the AHS cafeteria for an educational evening about the "Untouchables" of India. This multimedia event will help you understand the plight of some of the most oppressed people on Earth. See you there.

The State ACT is on April 23rd.

SENIORS: The JEM Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship exclusively for Arapahoe Students. The application is now available in the Guidance Center. If you have any questions about this special opportunity, please see your counselor.

Athletics

The girls JV soccer team continues to role as it routed Littleton 5 – 0 on Saturday.

The girls JV Lacrosse Team continued their undefeated season with a 9-6 win over ThunderRidge on Thursday and a 16-1 win over Douglas County on Saturday. Scoring goals for the team were Amber Olsen, Kayla Fasold, Liz Hallinan, Maddison Miller, Molly Witt, Shannan Pullara, Courtney Jones, Brittancy Walker, Ali Harden, Sarah Miller, Amy foster and Nicole Lyons. The team will finish up this week with games against East and Smokey Hill. Congratulations!

The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team defeated Douglas County last Saturday by a score of 22 - 6. Scoring for the Warriors were: Katie Gerhard, Emily Fiske, Channing Ahbe, Adison Rounds, Stacey Birlson, Sammy MacCurdy, Kate Spring, Anna Lepry, and Megan O'Donnell.

This week the team plays East this afternoon at 4:00 at East Turf, and Smokey Hill on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at LPS Stadium. The Wednesday game is Sr. Night when the graduating Seniors will be honored. Please turn out to support the team and honor the Seniors as they play in their last League game.

The Varsity boys lacrosse team plays Regis for the Continental League Championship at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon at Regis. Come out and support the team. Go Warriors!

Today at 4:30 the Freshman Boys Lacrosse will take on Cherry Creek at the Powell Middle school. Show your support and come cheer the guys on!
