General Announcements

Every junior will be taking the ACT tomorrow morning at 7:15.
Classes will begin at 11:30, periods 1 through 6 and the schedule is posted throughout the building. Lunch will be served for juniors only from 11-11:25. There will be bus transportation provided for juniors at the regular time and for all other classes, buses will run 4 hours later. The halls will be closed until 11:00 a.m.

ALL Seniors: Plan to attend a mandatory meeting in the theater tomorrow, Wednesday, April 23, starting at 10:30 a.m. sharp. This meeting will have important information regarding your graduation.

Attention Students,
In order to comply with state reporting to the Colorado Department of Education Arapahoe will be showing a 15 minute presentation on Cyber Safety. We will run the video for two days during both lunches in the cafeteria. This will take place on Wednesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 1st. If you are unable to catch the presentation at lunch, it will also be shown in the library each period throughout these two days as well. It contains important information designed to help you play smart and stay safe on the Internet. A link to the presentation can also be found on the AHS Website.

Reminder to all students who are planning on running for a position on Student Council for next year, your applications are due today by 2:30 to Mr. Holman in the math office.

All upper class females: Today is the last day to sign up for the self defense class that is happening tonight in the forum. Sign up with a partner during lunches today.

"There will be a very brief TSA meeting tomorrow (Wed) after school at 2:20 to finalize competition plans. This is a must attend meeting for ALL TSA students attending the state conference

The Colorado department of Education is accepting nominations for the 2009 Colorado Teacher of the Year. Information is available in the Attendance Office.

The acts have been chosen and the Prom Talent Show is almost here. Tickets will be sold during lunch for the 5:00 and 7:30 show on April 24th. Tickets are $5. Prom Royalty will be announced at the 7:30 show, so don’t miss it. Come and you may just see some great dance moves to use at the Prom!

Spanish Club will be hosting dinner at the Buenos Aires Pizzeria this Wednesday April 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Join us for authentic Argentine food such as empanadas, milanesa, pizza and pasta while learning about the culture of Argentina. The restaurant is owned and operated by a family from Buenos Aires and all food is homemade. The restaurant is located at 22nd & Larimer downtown and there is free parking. See Ms. DiSepio for more details!

The cast and crew of “Beauty and the Beast” would like to thank you for your support. You were great audiences and we had a great time. If anyone wants a magic rose please see Mr. Earley before the magic wears off.

Next Monday and Tuesday the Company class will present “Death of a Salesman” and “The Glass Menagerie” at 5:00 and 7:30. Tickets available from Company members or see Mr. Earley. Seating is limited.

Attention all Arapahoe students: Do you have spring fever? Well, get your crazy out at Habitat for Humanity's Wacky Tacky Dance on Friday, May 2. Wear a wacky costume and bring your friends because students from all high schools are welcome. Tickets are $12 and go on sale Monday, April 28 during both lunches.

SENIORS: The JEM Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship exclusively for Arapahoe Students. The application is now available in the Guidance Center. If you have any questions about this special opportunity, please see your counselor.


Athletics
The boys Varsity lacrosse team plays tonight, 7:00 p.m. at East High School. Come and support the team. Go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team for their victory over East yesterday. The team won by a score of 17 - 8. Scoring for the Warriors were Kate Spring 5 goals, Megan O'Donnell 3 goals, 1 assist, Rachel Sutton, 3 goals, Stacey Birlson 2 goals, 4 assists, Adison Rounds 2 goals, 4 assists, Channing Ahbe 2 goals, and Sammy MacCurdy 1 assist. Goalie Jen Weidner had 11 saves. Nice team work Ladies.

The girls next take on Smokey Hill at 7:00 pm Wednesday the 23rd at LPS Stadium. This is Senior Night so please come out and support the team and honor the graduating Seniors who will play in their last League game. Go Warriors!!
