General Announcements

Tomorrow, Friday April 3, is College Friday Day sponsored by College in Colorado. To honor higher education in the state of Colorado wear your favorite college logo tomorrow.

HELP!!! The Art Department needs your help. A painting (two black ink blot looking figures) is missing from the Art Department. A reward is being offered for it’s return – no questions asked. Please see Mrs. Hitchens in the Art Department. Thanks for your help, Arapahoe!!!

Attention all students attending the trip to the Wind River Reservation on April 16 and 17. Please remember to come to our information meeting this Friday morning, April 3rd at 6:30 in the Forum. Please see Ms Price or Ms Levi if you have questions.

Attention All Juniors!
Registration for the State ACT is coming on April 13th. Please bring a number 2 pencil to your Western Civilization class so that we can pre-register you for the State ACT on April 22nd. If you do not have a Western Civilization class, please make an appointment with your counselor ASAP.

An important announcement from your 2009 Graduation Committee: You should sign-up now for graduation speaker auditions. Here is your chance to leave a legacy with your friends and family. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd in Room N3. Please sign-up in Mrs. Sisler’s office between now and Friday, April 17th. This is a rare opportunity to share your observations with a captive audience. See Mrs. Cornils in the Social Studies Office for more details.

Attention all GO GREEN WEEK students! We have a planning meeting this Thursday at 2:30 in C17. Anyone else interested in getting involved with the Go Green Movement, join us as well! If you cannot attend, please come see Mrs. Moritz ASAP. THANKS!

Calling all mathematicians or just people who like math! Metro State Math Day is Tuesday, April 14th. It is a fun-filled day of math competitions at Auraria Campus in downtown Denver. We can only take the first 12 who want to attend. If you are interested, please sign the sheet on Mrs. Bretz’s desk in the math office.

The Summer School Program brochures are now available in the Guidance office or front office.

Attention juniors and seniors. Did you know that you can take college courses that can count as both high school and college credit? If you are interested, please attend an informational meeting regarding the Post Secondary Enrollment Options Program on April 7th in the Forum during the lunch periods. A representative of the PSEO program will provide information on how to take part in this exciting program. See you there.


Athletics

Congratulations to the Varsity Lady Lacrosse Warriors in their 14-11 win over the Regis Raptors on Tuesday night. Leading the scoring for Arapahoe was Samantha MacCurdy with 5 goals, Stacey Birlson with 3 goals and one assist, Allie Camp with two goals, and one goal apiece for Beth Ambrozic, Megan O'Donnell, Lauren Elliot and Rachel Sutton. Jen Weidner had 10 saves in goal.

The Girls JV Lacrosse team continued its winning season this week by defeating Regis 14-2 on Tuesday and Heritage/Littleton 8-0 on Wednesday. Scoring goals were Maddison Miller, Audrey Damico, Sarah Miller, Amber Olsen, Nicole Lyons, Emma Lattin and Connar Fitzpatrick.


The AHS Boys JV Lacrosse Gold Team will be taking on Colorado Academy today, Thursday, at 4:30 at Powell Middle School. Come out and cheer on our Warriors!!

Good luck to the freshmen boys’ lacrosse team as they take on Ponderosa tonight at Ponderosa High School at 5:30 PM. Go Warriors!
