General Announcements

If you signed up to audition for the bulletin reader positions for next year, auditions start at 2:30 today in room C21.

Be sure to join our superior jazz groups for a free Farewell Jazz Concert, tonight at 7:00 pm, in the Cafeteria. You'll hear some wonderful jazz, get to enjoy complimentary desserts, and celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of our talented Class of 2009!!

Student Council elections will take place this Friday May 1st from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Make sure you visit the voting booths in the cafeteria to choose your class and student body leaders for the 2009-2010 school year.

If you liked the Color Guard performance at the Spring assembly, and you feel like that could be you out there on the floor, then you should come tryout for the 2009/10 Arapahoe Colorguard!

“Not Like Us” an evening of one act plays presented by Company will be this Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 pm. Seating is limited but the refreshments are free. See any company member or Mr. Earley for tickets.

Attention all French Club members or French Club "wannabes". We will be having a meeting on Thursday, April 30, at 2:25 in Room C-23. We are planning to gather things to send to the soldiers in Afghanistan. Please Come!! We need a lot of help! Merci!

If you are an upcoming SENIOR and planning on taking the Medicine Class next fall, please stop by Mr. Craig’s office to sign up and receive a registration sticker. The Medicine Class is a zero hour class that meets 3 days a week and is taught by area medical professionals. It’s a great compliment to AP Biology! Don’t miss out!

Hey all Juniors and Seniors, Prom is right around the corner on May 2nd. The theme is Venetian Affair. Tickets for Prom will be sold in the cafeteria during both lunches through Friday, May 1st. Tickets are $38 in advance and $45 at the door.

Attention Warriors: Lights, Cameras, you provide the ACTION. After Prom 2009 will begin at 12, Midnight May 2nd – 3rd , here at AHS. There are unbelievable giveaways throughout the night and even more spectacular giveaways at the end of the night. Tickets are on sale during both lunches through May 1 for $12.00, and $15.00 at the door. All non AHS guests will need a guest permission form found in Mrs. Gottlieb’s office.

Seniors! Please fill out and return the senior survey for the final issue of the Arapahoe Herald. We need them by Tuesday, April 28th. You may return your survey, or pick up a blank form, in the journalism room E8. Thank you!

Those of you interested in taking an advanced placement Science course next year: The application for AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics B and AP Physics C will all be online this year. Please go to the corresponding teacher’s website to fill out the application. Applications will be due by Friday May 1st. You will be notified of your acceptance the following week.


Athletics

In last Friday's tournament at Air Force Academy, the AHS Girls Golf took 3rd place overall, while Sarah Moore and Katy Dyachkova tied for 2nd place in individual honors.

Congratulations to the Boys' Varsity Lacrosse team in their victory over the Littleton Lions last night. Eric Law and Ryan Parietti each scored hat tricks, and Greg Colosimo scored 2 goals, contributing to the 15 - 2 victory. Dylan Leary, Michael Griffin, Brett Menter, Logan Chandler, Matt Lueders, Jack Bobzien, and Bryce Parietti each scored a goal as well. Assists were added by Chip Stahmer, Greg Colosimo, Michael Griffin, and Brett Menter. The Black Train, led by Ryan Elliott and Scott Thompson limited the Lions to only 2 goals.

The last regular season game is tonight against the East Angels at 7:00m p.m. at East High school stadium. Support your Boys' Varsity lacrosse team as they cap off a great season. Go Warriors!
