General Announcements

Attention all sophomores and juniors who applied for Link Crew. We will be posting the 2009/2010 Link Crew leaders this afternoon in the North hallway across from the library. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Moritz, Mrs. Ackerman, Mr. Hawthorne or Mr. Trotter.

Just a reminder to all varsity captains to get your RSVP’s in to the library for the READ poster today.

“Damn Yankees” the Musical is coming soon. Tickets are on sale in the lunchroom daily. Don’t miss the biggest entertainment event of the year…it has romance, drama, comedy, singing and dancing. The performance dates are April 15-18.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who will lead our school next year? Who can take a role as a student council officer? Will it be you? Come to the forum on Monday, April 13th at 2:30 to find out more during our intent-to-run meeting.

A reminder to TSA members, we will meet on Monday, April 13 in E10 at 2:25 p.m. for a quick meeting.

Spanish Club will be going to see the play Bless Me Ultima on Thursday April 23rd at 7 p.m. The play is performed by Su Teatro in Denver and is based off Rudolfo Anaya’s award winning Chicano Literature book. Tickets are $12 per person. If you wish to attend please see Ms. DiSepio by Wednesday, April 15th. Don’t forget Spanish club meets every Wednesday after school in room C-21 at 2:30. New members are always welcomed!

Attention All Juniors!
Registration for the State ACT is coming on April 13th. Please bring a number 2 pencil to your Western Civilization class so that we can pre-register you for the State ACT on April 22nd. If you do not have a Western Civilization class, please make an appointment with your counselor ASAP.

Attention all Arapahoe Artists! Remember, if you entered artwork in the “Art Attack”, the reception and awards ceremony is Tuesday evening April 14th at 7:00 pm. See you there!

An important announcement from your 2009 Graduation Committee: You should sign-up now for graduation speaker auditions. Here is your chance to leave a legacy with your friends and family. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd in Room N3. Please sign-up in Mrs. Sisler’s office between now and Friday, April 17th. This is a rare opportunity to share your observations with a captive audience. See Mrs. Cornils in the Social Studies Office for more details.

Hey Arapahoe! Do you have talent? Well, sign up to audition for the Prom Talent Show! Auditions will be held on Monday, April 13th and Tuesday, April 14th. Sign up in the main office and see Mrs. Davis in the English office or Mrs. Melin in the Foreign Language office with questions. Show us your talent!

Hey Warriors! Would you like to see a teacher get a pie in the face thrown by a student? Well, the time has come to donate money to select a group of teachers who could have this fate at the Spring Assembly on April 24. Look for the table in the cafeteria April 13th – 23rd in order to donate money. Tickets are 50 cents for 1, or 3 for $1.00. The lucky student’s name will be chosen from this raffle. Don’t forget to donate!


Athletics

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Varsity Golf team for a first place finish in yesterday's Centennial League Tournament. AHS defeated Mullen by 1 stroke. Sarah Moore led the Warriors with an 83 and Katy Dyachkova shot an 87. Varsity White also took first place in their division, led by Hannah Fritz.

Attention, Lacrosse Fans! Your Boys' Varsity Lacrosse team demolished Mullen, the number one ranked team in the State, by a score of 16-6 last night. Leading the scoring was Eric Law with 7 goals and one assist. The Black Train, led by goalie Ryan Elliott, held Mullen to only 6 goals and played stellar defense. Everyone, on both offense and defense, played a superb game. Congratulations Warriors!

Congratulations to the Lady Lacrosse Warriors in their 18-7 win against Grandview on Wednesday evening. Leading the scoring for the Warriors was Samantha MacCurdy with 5 goals. Stephanie Curtis had 3 goals and 3 assists, Megan O'Donnell contributed three goals, Rachel Sutton and Stacey Birlson had 2 goals apiece, and Kayla Fasold, Anna Lepry and Courtney Jones each scored one goal. Helping out with one assist each were Allie Camp, Lauren Elliott and Beth Ambrozic. The Lady Warriors play again at 5:30 p.m. on Friday against Cherokee Trail at Legacy Stadium!

The Girls’ JV Lacrosse Team defeated Grandview on Wednesday with a score of 18-0. Scoring goals for the team were Ali Harden, Maddison Miller, Audrey Damico, Tana LaCavalier, Sarah Miller, Amy Foster, Maureen Igoe, Amber Olsen, Nicole Lyons, Emma Lattin and Connar Fitzpatrick.

Congratulations to the JV Gold Boys Lacrosse team for their big win yesterday over Colorado Academy with a score of 7-3! Leading the scoring for the game was Ben Knopf, with 4 goals, and Chris Youngblade, Mark Goetz, and Dan Mercier also scored.Come out to the Powell fields today to cheer them on as they take on Golden Senior High at 4:30.

Arapahoe Boys Swim & Dive Team hosts Grandview High School at our home pool today at 4:30. Come to the Arapahoe pool and support our swimmers and divers!
