General Announcements

Want to help lead DECA next year? Sign up for an officer interview this week in Mrs. Grantham’s office!

Student Council elections will take place this Friday, May 1st from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Make sure you visit the voting booths in the cafeteria to choose your class and student body leaders for the 2009-2010 school year.

All Cast members of “Damn Yankees” pick up your stuff by the end of FRIDAY of this week or consider it a donation to Goodwill or the dumpster. After all you “Gotta have heart”.

Tickets for tonight’s Company show are available but going fast. The evening of one acts “NOT LIKE US” is tonight at 7:00 pm and tickets are $5. Part of the proceeds will help the Coalition for the Homeless. See Mr. Earley for details.

Attention all French Club members or French Club "wannabes". We will be having a meeting today, at 2:25 in Room C-23. We are planning to gather things to send to the soldiers in Afghanistan. Please Come!! We need a lot of help! Merci!

If you liked the Color Guard performance at the Spring assembly, and you feel like that could be you out there on the floor, then you should come tryout for the 2009/10 Arapahoe Colorguard! Please come tonight, Thursday April 30th - Mandatory Meeting for Students/Parents at 7pm in the Band Room.
Monday and Tuesday, May 4th & 5th, Colorguard Tryout Clinic from 3:30-6p in the Aux Gym.
Weds May 6th, Colorguard TRYOUTS from 5-8p in the Aux Gym.

If you are an upcoming SENIOR and planning on taking the Medicine Class next fall, please stop by Mr. Craig’s office to sign up and receive a registration sticker. The Medicine Class is a zero hour class that meets 3 days a week and is taught by area medical professionals. It’s a great compliment to AP Biology! Don’t miss out!

Actors and Techies, signup sheet for theatre letters is on the call board and ballots for Awards are available. See Mr. Earley for details.

Attention N.H.S. members. We need volunteers to help with arena scheduling on Tuesday, May 19th, Wednesday, May 20th, and Friday, May 22nd. Shifts will take place from 11:45-2:15 and from 2:15 to 5:00. Please sign up at Mrs. Lee’s desk if you’re interested. Volunteers can submit their service logs late and can count this as their club activity if needed.

Hey all Juniors and Seniors, Prom is right around the corner on May 2nd. The theme is Venetian Affair. Tickets for Prom will be sold in the cafeteria during both lunches through Friday, May 1st. Tickets are $38 in advance and $45 at the door.

Attention Warriors: Lights, Cameras, you provide the ACTION. After Prom 2009 will begin at 12, Midnight May 2nd – 3rd, here at AHS. There are unbelievable giveaways throughout the night and even more spectacular giveaways at the end of the night. Tickets are on sale during both lunches through May 1 for $12.00, and $15.00 at the door. All non AHS guests will need a guest permission form found in Mrs. Gottlieb’s office.

Those of you interested in taking an advanced placement Science course next year: The application for AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics B and AP Physics C will all be online this year. Please go to the corresponding teacher’s website to fill out the application. Applications will be due by Friday May 1st. You will be notified of your acceptance the following week.

Please check the Lost and Found table in the cafeteria for your lost belongings.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Girls’ JV Lacrosse team for their victory over Cherry Creek 12-4 in their final game. Scoring goals for the team were Maddison Miller, Audrey Damico, Sarah Miller, Amber Olsen, Nicole Lyons and Emma Lattin. The team ends their winning season with a record of 11-2.

Congratulations to the Girls’ Gold lacrosse team for coming away 2-0 last night in a double-header at Newton Middle School. The Gold team defeated Ralston Valley 9-6, followed by a 12-3 victory over ThunderRidge. Goal scorers for the Warriors were: Sydney Englehart, Sarah Balkenbush, Sami Striefer, Katelyn Manzer, Michelle Scott, Maria Krump, Sam Perkins, and Hope Swearingen. They were backed up with excellent goaltending by Bri Rehberg and Sami Striefer. Way to go Gold team!

Come cheer on the Freshmen Boys' Lacrosse team in their final home game this afternoon against Mullen, at Powell Middle School at 4:30 PM. Good luck Warriors!

Come out and cheer on your Girls’ Soccer teams today! The Fresh/Soph team will take on Arvada West here at Arapahoe at 3:30, the JV will play Sand Creek at 4:00 – both games will be held here at Arapahoe. Then come out and cheer on the varsity as they take on Grandview at LPSS at 7:00 pm. Go Warriors! J

The Arapahoe Boys Swim & Dive Team has scheduled a fund-raiser at CiCi's pizza for today from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm. Today is the home meet with Cherokee Trail here at the Arapahoe Pool, starting at 4:30.
Please come and support the swimmers and divers as they advance to the "Centennial B" & “A League" Meets and in May in Ft. Collins to the "Colorado 5A Swim & Dive Championships".
