General Announcements:

All students planning to compete in speech meets this November must attend Tuesday’s meeting after school at 2:30 in C15.

FBLA this is the last week to sign up! Don’t miss out on all the fun and competition! We have a meeting this Wednesday at 2:30 in room E9 to sign up for competition. If you have questions see Mrs. Swank in the Business Office.

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The 2012 trip to Washington D.C. is here again! This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and participate with kids from around the nation in examining issues. This is NOT your 8th grade trip, which was fun, but was primarily tourism. For those interested in this trip please attend an informational meeting today at 2:30 in Room C8. If you are unable to attend the meeting please see Mr. Hawthorne or Mr. Meyer in the Social Studies department during any off hour today. There is also a parent meeting for those interested on Thursday in Room N2 at 6:00 p.m.

$1,000 could be yours! Have you served our community by volunteering your time? If so, you could be entered to win $1,000 and a trip to Washington D.C. Stop by the guidance department and visit your counselor to find out how to apply for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. Be sure to hurry! The deadline is today.

CSU is hosting its annual Math Day competition Thursday, November 3rd. If you would like to participate please sign up with Mr. Thurmond in the Math office. Space is limited.

Hey Warriors! Are you interested in being a part of a winning team? If you like to perform, dance, and express yourself you should consider being a part of the Arapahoe Winter Guard. Coach Bailey and the current members would love for you to come to our first Winter Guard meeting this Wednesday the 2nd at 3pm in the AHS Band Room. Hope to see you there!

Athletics:

Hey Warriors!! They cheer for you all year, now it’s your turn!! Come out and support your Arapahoe JV and Varsity Cheerleaders as they compete in the 2011 Centennial League Spirit Championships tonight at Eaglecrest High School. The doors open at 5:00 p.m. and student tickets are only $3 with your student ID - if you have purchased an activity pass. The gym is small, and seating is limited, so don’t be late! The cheers compete at 6:00 p.m. Good luck to our JV and Varsity Cheers!!!

Are you looking to try out for girls soccer in the spring? Then listen up!! The first meeting of the season will be held in room N5 Wednesday, November 2, after school. If you cannot attend this meeting make sure to see Mr. Bast in the guidance center to find out what you missed. Hope to see you all there!

Winter Sports Registration will take place during lunches this week in the cafeteria. Girls swim and dive today, boys and girls basketball on Wednesday, November 2nd and wrestling on Thursday, November 3rd. Please stop by the Athletic Office and pick up your registration paperwork today!

Student Insurance coverage is available to all High School students thru K12 Accident and Health. Enrolling is easy and the premium is very inexpensive. Please stop by the Athletic Office to pick up an information sheet. Just a reminder that all students who are going to try out for or be active on a High School athletic team must have insurance prior to registration.

Attention all cross country runners. Today after school is your last chance to turn in your clean uniform and bag before you will be assessed a fine. Please bring your equipment to the cage entrance promptly at 2:30 today."
