General Announcements

HO! HO! HO! AHS Toys for Tots has a goal of 1,000 toys for Alice Terry Elementary and the Denver Indian Center. For many of these children, this may be the only holiday gift they receive. We now have about 100 toys in the building. We need 900 more toys to meet our goal. We only have 4 more school days to bring them in. Watch for sales – the best way to shop, and start bringing your toys in tomorrow. You make it happen!

Just a reminder to students that checked out books from the library before Thanksgiving break, most of those books are due back. Avoid those book fines and get your books back to the library! Thanks.

Attention speech team members: anyone planning to participate in a December or January tournament should attend Tuesday’s meeting after school at 2:30 in C15.

Congratulations to the following students on their performances at last Saturday’s Mullen Invitational speech meet:

Receiving excellent ribbons were Peter Galloway in U. S. Extemporaneous Speaking, Sage Scala in Poetry Interpretation, Kati Ansay and Kelsey Common in Public Forum Debate.

Receiving superior ribbons were Austin Davis in Poetry Interpretation, along with Lizzie Stephani and Sanjay Patil in Public Forum Debate.

Attention all Drama Club members . . . our next meeting is tomorrow after school in the auditorium. At this meeting we will discuss the winter play, Charley’s Aunt, the Thespian conference, and the procedure to earn a letter in theatre.

Would you like to see the best actors in school perform? Come see the Company Showcase this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. This year AHS is taking 22 thespians to the Colorado State Thespian Conference to compete in individual events. Before they go, get a sneak peak at what they will be performing with from monologues, to scenes, to musical theatre performances. Admission is free!

Prom is on its way and the Junior Class is looking for some interesting and creative ideas for a ticket design. An informational flyer is available in the social studies office and designs are due the Friday after Winter Break. Please check with the Junior Class officers if you have any questions.

Athletics:

Congratulations to the Toms for taking second place at the Mile High Regional Championship! Your performance was amazing! Great job Toms.

Attention all boy swimmers and divers: Coach Richmond would like to have a quick meeting after school Tuesday November 29th. Please go to the pool. The meeting will begin at 2:20 PM and finish by 2:30 PM
