General Announcements:
HO! HO! HO! We are getting closer to our goal of 1000 toys! This morning there are about 220 toys in the building. We truly appreciate all of your contributions and so will the kids at Alice Terry Elementary the Denver Indian Center. We still need about 780 toys in the next 3 days, so show us your Warrior spirit and bring those toys in. You make it happen!
Students and Staff: Do you need something to do this Wednesday night? Maybe you just want to take a break from studying…maybe you want to get out of the house for a while and listen to some great music…or maybe…just maybe...you still need to see a live concert performance so you can finish writing your Performance Review paper for your music or theater class? Well, now is your chance!!! You are invited to the Winter Band Concert on Wednesday, November 30th at 7:00 PM in the AHS Theater. This concert will feature the AHS Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble, as well as a special performance with all three bands at the end of the night! Small ensembles will begin performing at 6:40 PM so be sure to get here a little early for the pre-show entertainment. We hope to see you there…enjoy the show!!!
Attention speech team members: anyone planning to participate in a December or January tournament should attend today’s meeting after school at 2:30 in C15.
Attention all Drama Club members . . . our next meeting is today after school in the auditorium. At this meeting we will discuss the winter play, Charley’s Aunt, the Thespian conference, and the procedure to earn a letter in theatre.
Would you like to see the best actors in school perform? Come see the Company Showcase this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. This year AHS is taking 22 thespians to the Colorado State Thespian Conference to compete in individual events. Before they go, get a sneak peak at what they will be performing with from monologues, to scenes, to musical theatre performances. Admission is free!
Attention all DECA members attending Districts – don’t forget the mandatory testing sessions this week! You are either scheduled to take the test on Wednesday at 2:30 in the Forum or Thursday at 2:30 in E9. If you don’t know which test date you’re scheduled for, please see Mrs. Grantham ASAP!!
Just a reminder to students that checked out books from the library before Thanksgiving break, most of those books are due back. Avoid those book fines and get your books back to the library! Thanks.
Prom is on its way and the Junior Class is looking for some interesting and creative ideas for a ticket design. An informational flyer is available in the social studies office and designs are due the Friday after Winter Break. Please check with the Junior Class officers if you have any questions.
