Athletics
Come out at 7 PM tonight to LPS Stadium to cheer on the Varsity Football Warriors in their final game of the season as they host the Rampart Rams from Colorado Springs. Tomorrow morning at 9 AM come watch your Freshman Warrior Football Team battle the Freshmen from Rampart High School. The game will be played right here at the Arapahoe High School field. Go Warriors!
Congratulations to your Junior Varsity Football Warriors. They were victorious in their final game of the season last Saturday versus Smoky Hill. They ended the season with a winning record of 6 and 3!
Hey Warriors, the varsity volleyball team competes in regionals, the top 16 in state, tomorrow at Mountain Vista. They play at 8 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2 PM. If they end up in the top two of four, they will be the first volleyball team in Arapahoe history to go to the state tournament next weekend. Come on over and help cheer them on to victory. Good luck!

This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand as we enter a new era in politics. Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band for placing third in the state at Invesco Field on Saturday night! Arapahoe received bronze medals for their outstanding performance. The Freshman team will play its last game of the season here at AHS on Saturday at 9:00 AM. They will be trying to extend a 3 year freshman home winning streak. See you all there.
Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team as they advanced through districts on Saturday. They swept their pool and cross over match beating Fountain, Ponderosa, and Fruita in three games each. In the championship match, they lost a tough game against Grandview, but advance to regionals this Saturday. They are now one of the final 16 teams remaining in the state and play at Mountain Vista on Saturday. Great job, and good luck!

The Warrior Marching Band also placed first with their Drum Majors, Percussion and Color Guard!!! The band would like to invite all of you to cheer them on at their State Championships on Saturday. Both the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams qualified for State last Thursday at the Region Meet at Aurora Sports Park. The Girls finished in first place, led by the following All-Region finishers: Molly McGough (4th place), Sophie McNeely (6th place), and Ashley Limes (10th place). The Boys captured third place, led by All-Region finishers Chris Holt (2nd place), Jason Kearns (4th place), and Kyle Lyons (5th place). Both teams will compete at the State Championships this Saturday at Fossil Ridge HS in Fort Collins.

Varsity volleyball took on #1 ranked, undefeated Cherry Creek last Tuesday night and lost in an unbelievable match to five games. They were down 14 – 8 in the 5th game and battled back to lose 18-16. They are the first team to take Cherry Creek to five games this season. Great work, and thanks to everyone who stayed to cheer us on! The Warriors begin post season play this week.

We will be signing up for potential state events and will be handing out the TSA state conference registration materials! Arapahoe placed 2nd out of 19 competing bands, with a season high 79.2 points!! The Warrior Marching Band placed 1st in the Individual Music caption for the day! The band would like to invite all of you to their state qualifying performance at LPS Stadium on Thursday, at 8:30pm.

Congrats to the varsity volleyball team for their comeback victory over Mullen last night. Down 2 games to 0, the Warriors battled back and won the next three games, winning 15-10 in the 5th game. Thanks to everyone who supported the Think Pink Cause. The night was a great success!

Tonight is the night! Arapahoe Volleyball faces Mullen in their Think Pink Match! Games are at 4:00, 5:00, and varsity starts at 6:30. Please come out, wear pink, and support the teams and the cause. See you then! Also Warriors, we have been given a donation of 25 pink water bottles. We will give these out for $10.00 donations. In addition, we received a $50.00 gift card to REI. For any donation given at the entry to the game, your name will be entered in a drawing to win the gift card.

1) On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in the DECA store, you can purchase pink bracelets, pink t-shirts, and pink memory tags. All of the money we raise will be donated.
2) On Wednesday, wear pink to school!
3) On Wednesday night, come to the volleyball games and help us beat Mullen. All of the players will be wearing pink uniforms, so wear pink then too!

Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band who performed at Saturday's Douglas County Marching Invitational. As a result of Arapahoe's outstanding performances, the Warrior Marching Band is now ranked 3rd in the state, with the top music scores, out of all the 5A bands! The Warrior Band scored a season high 77.9 at Saturday's competition!! Way to go Warrior Marching Band!!!

The boy’s varsity tennis team lost a close match last night by a score of 4-3 to Littleton. The varsity team wound up their regular season with a 7-5 record and heads into post season play next Tuesday when we host the Regional Tournament.

We've got spirit! The Toms will be selling "spirit pops" during both lunches in the cafeteria tomorrow. Many of you already know these long-lasting flavorful lollipops are a bargain at one for 75 cents or 2 for a dollar. Come support the team and get your spirit!
Athletics
Congratulations to the girls volleyball team for another sweep last night against Smoky Hill. Freshman A, Sophomore, and JV all won 2 games to none, and varsity swept 3 games to none.
Thanks to all of the fans who came to cheer us on. "Bump, set, spike it, that's the way we like it!"
Congrats to the JV softball team for defeating Cherokee Trail in a very exciting game yesterday. The final score was 25 to 17. Come support the Lady Warriors tomorrow in their last home game of the season. Game time is 4:15.
Today the Boys Lacrosse Club will have its first meeting at 7 pm in the Forum. The Informational Meeting is for the players and their parents. Families will meet the new coaches and learn about the program. Clothing will be available to size and orders made. Most importantly, the framework of the only fund raiser will be presented.

Hey all DECA members! Don’t forget about the meeting right after school TODAY! We’ll be meeting in room S1 at 2:20 to sign up for DECA Dodgeball and the Wolverine Invitational. See you there!
Hey DECA Dodgeball players! There will be a MANDATORY captain’s meeting on Monday, Oct. 6th at 2:20 in room S1. Rules and regulations will be discussed at the meeting. All team captains must attend.
Drama club members and Thespians there will be a short meeting today about the Thespian Conference. If you plan on attending this year please meet in the Theatre at 2:30 today. Spread the word.
Are you interested in the United States Naval Academy? Lt. Doyle from the US Naval Academy will be visiting Arapahoe today from 10:30 to 11. Please get a blue college visit pass in the Post Grad Center, get permission from your classroom teacher to visit and get your questions answered about the Naval Academy at Annapolis.
Attention National Honor Society members: Be sure to check the NHS web page for important info about upcoming volunteer opportunities and next week’s blood drive. We are still looking for helpers for the blood drive. Our next meeting is October 8.
Key Club Members: all club fees including $15.00 for the tee shirt and $15.00 for the community service projects are due Monday, Oct. 6 to Mackie Holland. Please contact Danielle Simler with any questions.

Seniors: Graduation announcement orders will be taken in the cafeteria this Thursday and Friday during lunches. Ordering packets can be picked up in the main office or guidance office.
Juniors and seniors are invited to sign up for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). This test is an excellent vehicle for exploring your interests and career options. All students seeking a military academy nomination from Tom Tancredo’s office (6th District of Colorado) MUST complete the ASVAB. AHS will be offering the ASVAB on Thursday, October 2, at 2:45pm in N2/N3. Please see Mrs. Oeinck in Guidance to sign up.
Think you’re extreme? Do you live on the edge? If you participate in an extreme sport or activity, come to E-8, or speak to Kara Johnson, Anna Dreiling, or Dakota Moran for a chance to be featured in the Arapahoe Herald. Let your classmates discover your hidden talent.

The boy’s varsity tennis team defeated Grandview yesterday by a score of 6-1. Today we head down to Air Academy and tomorrow we play Littleton here at AHS. Come on out and support your local tennis team.
There will be a Boys Basketball Booster Club meeting on Wednesday, October 1st at 7 pm in room E9. We will be discussing plans for the upcoming season.
