General Announcements

With tomorrow being Halloween, please remember that all costumes must follow the Arapahoe school dress code. No masks, no face paint, no hoods, and faces must be visible. Please see an administrator if you have any questions.

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The 2009 trip to Washington D.C. is here again! This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand as we enter a new era in politics. There will be a parent/guardian meeting for those interested in this trip tonight at 7 PM in the Forum. Please feel free to join your parent or guardian, and if you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Mr. Hawthorne or Mr. Meyer in the Social Studies department.

Attention Sophomores! We will hold our next Student Council meeting next Tuesday, November 4, at 2:30 p.m. in room C20. We hope to see you there!

Attention mathematicians!! Plan to attend the 17th Annual University of Northern Colorado Math Competition on Friday, October 31st from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. in room N-2 and N-3. See your math teacher or Mrs. Lobser for details. Spooky snacks will be served! See you there!

Attention Math Club members! In preparation for the CSU Math Day competition, we will be meeting each Tuesday and Thursday at 2:30 in Room S-8. For more details, see the Math Announcements board right outside the math office.

Come join your Link Leaders for a bouncy good time. Link Crew is planning an after school field trip for leaders and freshmen to go to JumpStreet – an indoor trampoline park – on Thursday, November 6th. Cost is $12.00 and includes admission to the park, snack and transportation. We will leave AHS at 3:00 p.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. It is first come, first served, so get your permission slips and cold, hard cash into Mr. Hawthorne in the Social Studies Department ASAP! Permission slips are due November 4th.

Athletics

Congratulations go out to Brian Craig and Eric Law for receiving All State Honorable Mention recognition for their State Tennis Tournament performance.

Congratulations to the varsity football team for their exciting win over Smoky Hill on Friday night. They will host Rampart in a post-season game this Friday night, October 31st at 7:00 pm at LPSS. The Freshman team will play Rampart here at Arapahoe on Saturday morning, November 1st at 9:00 am. Go Warriors!

All girls interested in basketball are welcome to attend Coach Burgin’s preseason camp for grades 9 through 12. The camp starts November 3rd and runs through November 11th. Juniors and Seniors will participate from 2:30 to 5:00 pm, Freshman and Sophomores from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Both camps will be held in the Main Gym.

Winter Sports Registration will take place next week! Wrestling will take place on Monday, November 3rd, Boys and Girls Basketball on Tuesday, November 4th and Girls Swimming/Diving will register on Wednesday, November 5th. All registration will take place in Room S4 beginning at 2:30 pm each day. Registration paperwork can be picked up in the Athletic Office.

Hey students and staff. . . interested in running or walking a 5K? We hope you can participate in the Littleton Stride on Sunday, November 2nd. Early registration ends this Friday. Please pick up a registration form for the Littleton Stride 10K and 5K Run from any Physical Education Teacher. Get movin!!
