Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band for placing third in the state at Invesco Field on Saturday night! Arapahoe received bronze medals for their outstanding performance. The Warrior Band's Finals Score of 80.40 was just 2.35 points away from 1st place! Arapahoe placed 1st in the Visual - General Effect caption, thanks to our superior color guard!!! The Warrior Band has now placed no lower than 3rd at any state championship competition for the 4th year in a row!!!! The band would like to thank all the students, parents and administration for their support throughout the 2008 competitive season.
FBLA members, it’s time to start signing up for competition. Don’t know what to sign up for? We will help you find an event to participate in that fits your talents. Our meeting will be held in room S5 after school this Wednesday, October 29.
ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The 2009 trip to Washington D.C. is here again! This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand as we enter a new era in politics. There will be a parent/guardian meeting for those interested in this trip on Thursday, October 30th at 7 PM in the Forum. Please feel free to join your parent or guardian, and if you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Mr. Hawthorne or Mr. Meyer in the Social Studies department.

Do you write? Paint? Draw? This is a great opportunity to have your artwork, poetry and short stories published in Arapahoe’s literary magazine, The MUSE! Submissions will be accepted starting October 31st until December 12th. Directions to submit are on the AHS website under activities, The MUSE. See Mr. Miles in the English office for details.
Attention juniors and seniors. Did you know that you can take college courses that can count as both high school and college credit? If you are interested, please see Mrs. Boyce in Guidance asap! We are enrolling students in the PSEO program for winter/spring courses. The forms must be returned to Guidance by Wednesday, the 29th. Please take part in this exciting program!
Attention Math Club members! In preparation for the CSU Math Day competition, we will be meeting each Tuesday and Thursday at 2:30 in Room S-8. For more details, see the Math Announcements board right outside the math office.

Athletics
Congratulations to the Freshman football team for their 21-14 win Saturday over Smoky Hill. The win pushes the team’s record to 6 and 3. The Freshman team will play its last game of the season here at AHS on Saturday at 9:00 AM. They will be trying to extend a 3 year freshman home winning streak. See you all there.
Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team as they advanced through districts on Saturday. They swept their pool and cross over match beating Fountain, Ponderosa, and Fruita in three games each. In the championship match, they lost a tough game against Grandview, but advance to regionals this Saturday. They are now one of the final 16 teams remaining in the state and play at Mountain Vista on Saturday. Great job, and good luck!
