General Announcements

Any students who are interested in joining the newspaper or yearbook next year should pick up an application from Mr. Anderson in room E8.

Choir auditions for the 2010-2011 school year will be held next week. Please see Ms. Parmenter in the choir room for information.

Have you taken a lot of Business Classes? If you have you may qualify for a certificate of proficiency in the area of business. Please come by and fill out an application in the Business office. They must be turned in by April 19th.

Interested in running for a student council office for the 2010-2011 school year? Stop by Mr. Brandberg’s office in World Language or Mrs. Lee’s office in Language Arts to get an application. Applications for all potential officers are due Tuesday, April 21st.

Did you know that during the 90’s Tickle Me Elmo was the most popular toy?! To find out other cool facts about the 90’s and other decades, come to the AHS Prom Fashion show! The show is April 19th at 7:00 pm in the Theater. Tickets are $2 at the door. Hope to see you all there!

Do you have a special talent???? Then why aren’t you signed up to try out for the Prom talent show? SIGN UP ASAP!!!! Tryouts are Tuesday, April 20th from 2:30 – 5:30 pm and Wednesday, April 21 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Sign-up sheets are in the Main Office.

Attention All Juniors!!! The State ACT is on April 28th. If you missed registration, please go the Guidance Office for Registration Materials.

Seniors, here is your chance to leave a legacy with your friends and family. Sign-up now for graduation speaker auditions. Auditions will be held on Thursday, April 22nd. Please sign-up in Mrs. Sisler’s office by today. This is a rare opportunity to share your observations with a captive audience. See Mrs. Cornils in the Social Studies Office for more details.


Athletics

After being defeated 6-18 by the #1 ranked Cherry Creek Bruins Girls Lacrosse Team on Monday, the girls in black came back strong to soundly rout the Overland Trailblazers yesterday 21-0. Scoring goals for the Lady Warriors Girls Lacrosse Team were Rachael Sutton with 7, Syd Engelhart, Maddie Miller, Sarah Miller, Amber Oleson and Molly O'Donnell each with 2, and Alli Camp, Audrey Damico, Kayla Fasold, and Emma Lattin each with 1. And, after a tremendous workout Monday against Cherry Creek seeing 36 shots and saving 18, netminder Chloe Williams only had to fend off one shot in Wednesday’s match. Next up is Smoky Hill today at 5pm at Stutler Bowl. Go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Girls’ Varsity Soccer team on their 500th program win last night as they defeated Mullen 3 – 0. Way to go Warriors!

Your Girls’ Varsity Tennis team defeated Smoky Hill yesterday by a score of 7-0. Come out next Tuesday to watch your tennis team play Grandview for the last home match of the season. Varsity plays at AHS and JV at Powell. Hope to see you there!

The JV tennis team defeated Smoky Hill yesterday 10-1.

Wish the Boys’ JV Lacrosse team “good luck” in their 4:30 game today against Overland High School at Powell Middle School.
