General Announcements

Tickets for the Spring Musical are going fast…Friday and Saturday performances are sold out so get your tickets for Wednesday or Thursday during lunches this week!

Interested in leadership? In having a role in important school events like prom and homecoming? Come to the student council intent-to-run meetings on Tuesday, April 13th at 6:45 in the forum or at 2:30 in the forum and see what student leadership is all about!

Scholarships and Seniors: First Bank is offering a scholarship for 1 student from Arapahoe. Please stop by the Post Grad Center today to get the application. Deadline date is April 23, 2 weeks from today.

Calling all math students! Metro State Math Day is Wednesday, April 14th. If you like problem solving, building things, and to be challenged mathematically, then you should attend Metro State Math Day. It is on Wednesday, April 14th and will be a full day of math activities. Anyone interested, please stop by Mrs. Bretz’s desk in the math office and take a permission slip.

Attention Juniors: AHS is able to offer a free practice ACT Tuesday April 13th from 4:00-7:30 p.m. in Rooms N-2 and N-3. Sign up in the Guidance Center now! Princeton Review will offer a feedback session on Monday, April 26.

Do you have a special talent???? Then why aren’t you signed up to try out for the Prom talent show? SIGN UP ASAP!!!! Tryouts are Tuesday, April 20th from 2:30 – 5:30 pm and Wednesday, April 21 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Sign-up sheets are in the Main Office.

Attention All Juniors!!!! Registration for the State ACT is coming….April 12th in Western Civilization classrooms. Counselors will walk you through it during class time. If you don’t have a Western Civ. class, please make an appointment with your counselor.

Seniors, here is your chance to leave a legacy with your friends and family. Sign-up now for graduation speaker auditions. Auditions will be held on Thursday, April 22nd. Please sign-up in Mrs. Sisler’s office by Friday, April 16th. This is a rare opportunity to share your observations with a captive audience. See Mrs. Cornils in the Social Studies Office for more details.

Athletics

Congratulations to the AHS Girls’ Golf team for finishing in 2nd place in yesterday's Centennial League Tournament. Claudia Davis took individual honors with a 67 and Katy Dyachkova finished 2nd with a 70.

The Freshman Boys’ Lacrosse Team beat Cherry Creek yesterday 8-7. The Warriors are back in action again tomorrow with 3 tournament games. They play their first game at 7:30 a.m. at Mountain Ridge Middle School.

Your Arapahoe Men's Varsity Swim and Dive team crushed Mullen yesterday with a score of 103 to 83. Our current state qualifiers include Silas Getz, Andrew Gibbs, and Kent Schnacke. We have two meets next week, on Tuesday and Thursday, and want everyone to come down to the pool and cheer us on to victory.

The Girls’ Varsity Tennis team defeated Overland last night by a score of 7-0. The Warriors will play tomorrow in the Phil Krous Invitational hosted by East High School at City Park in Denver. Come on out and support your local tennis team.

The Girls’ JV Tennis team defeated Overland yesterday 19-0. The JV tennis team remains undefeated!

Good luck to the Boys’ JV Lacrosse team as they travel to Eaglecrest High School this afternoon for a 4:30 PM game. Then on Saturday, Arapahoe hosts the Golden Sr. High School at 10 AM at Powell Middle School. Come out and enjoy the warm weather and cheer on your fellow Warriors!
