General Announcements

Juniors and Seniors are invited to sign up for the ASVAB Career Exploration Program – a comprehensive career exploration and planning program designed to help students learn about their interest and explore the world of work. All you have to do to take advantage of this program is take the ASVAB. Testing is scheduled at our school on April 11 at 2:30 pm. Do your best and enjoy all the benefits the ASVAB Program has to offer. For more information or to sign up, see Mrs. Oeinck in the Guidance Office.

Want to dance the night away? Well you’re in luck! Next Friday, April 13th, Student Council and the Remember Club are sponsoring “A Night to Remember” dance from 7-10pm in the cafeteria. Tickets will be sold at the door. Come and enjoy a Night to Remember!!

Attention all FCCLA members: Please plan to attend a short meeting on Tuesday April 10th right after school in room E2. We will be launching our final community service project “Quarters for Kids”, discussing our scrap book, as well as discussing our plans for the end of the year. It should be over by 3:00. Snacks will be provided! See you then FCCLA!

Speech Club members are reminded to bring in their money for the banquet. All nominees for next year's officers need to have speeches prepared for next meeting.

Hey, would be engineers! 2 upcoming events of interest – University of Nebraska, Lincoln, invites you to the annual E-Week Open house on Friday, April 20 AND CU’s Annual High School Honors Institute in Engineering is accepting applications for this summer’s program. This is a competitive program for students entering their junior or senior year and requires an application. Information for both programs is in the Post Grad Center.

Hey Warriors! Do you have the ability to jump, cheer loud and tumble? Do you enjoy supporting your school? If so, you may be the perfect person to try out for a spot on one of the 2007-2008 Arapahoe High School Cheerleading teams. There is a mandatory parent/athlete meeting on Wednesday, April 11th at 6:00 p.m. in the Forum. Tryouts will begin on Thursday, April 26th. You must have a current physical and you and a parent must attend the Wednesday meeting to try out. Please see Ms. Pramenko if you have any questions.
Attention all you 2007 Guy Cheers and Toms Team members. . . Practices start on Tuesday, April 10th at 6:00 sharp in the Upper Gym! Don’t forget to bring your mouth guard. You will not be allowed to participate in stunting without it. Please see Ms. Pramenko if you have any questions.

Tuesday, April 10 is Career Day at Arapahoe. Parking spaces in the west lot will be limited due to over 100 speakers coming to our building. Please plan on carpooling with friends or finding alternate transportation on that day.

A reminder that the Band Hall is CLOSED EVERYDAY during second lunch because of classes. Pay attention, signs are posted.

An important announcement from your 2007 graduation committee:
You should now sign up for graduation speaker auditions. This is your chance to leave a legacy with your friends and family. Auditions will be Tuesday, April 24th in the forum. Please sign up in Mrs. Sisler’s office between now and Friday, 4/20. This is a rare opportunity to share your observations with a captive audience, and time is running out. See Mrs. Ackerman in the English office for more details.

Due to career day activities scheduled on Tuesday April 10, the library will be closed from 8:20 until approximately 11:30. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Athletics

The AHS Track Team is sponsoring the City of Littleton Championships today, April 6th. Jamba Juice will be at the City of Littleton Championships today, at LPS Stadium selling Caribbean Passion and Raspberry Lime Sublime Jamba Juices, to benefit the AHS Track Team. They will be there from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Please come out…drink Jamba and benefit AHS Track!
Arapahoe’s next baseball game is Monday, April 9 at 4:00 pm versus the Heritage Eagles. We will continue our traditional "Burrito Bucks Bombs" give-away to 10 fans for each Warrior home run and the Trivia Contests that run throughout the game where fans can win a Meal Deal. In addition we are having a Special "Warrior Spirit" contest for the top five fans who demonstrate the best Warrior Spirit AND Sportsmanship during the game. The winners will each receive Chipotle Burrito Bucks. Please "spread the word" so we can have a great crowd to cheer on the Warriors to Victory!!
Last night a huge crowd once again witnessed the Seniors beat the Faculty in the Wish Week Basketball Game. The Seniors have never lost the game in the history of Wish Week. Conor Loan hit a last second 3 point shot to win the game 81-79! Conor will be signing autographs during 4th hour in the Cafeteria. Congratulations, Seniors!

A ton of money was raised all night at the basketball game with prizes including half-shaving Michael O’Brien’s head and Zach Rubenstein singing a Talking Heads song! Wish Week is not over yet, though, so be sure to keep donating all day today to make sure Cayle gets her hot tub!

The Girls JV soccer team defeated Castleview yesterday 3 – 0. Girls JV soccer players need to meet in room C-7 at 2:45.
Attention Warrior Lacrosse Fans! Get ready to plan your weekend around one of the most exciting events in High School Sports. This will be the first really intense games of the season. Come to LPS on Saturday night at 7:00 and get pumped about watching your Varsity 1 LAX boys beat Cherry Creek. It promises to be a great match-up and the Warriors need you all in the stands. Come ready to cheer them on loudly!! Go Warriors!

The Freshmen Boys Lacrosse team had another exciting win yesterday, beating Littleton High School 8-4. Great job! Their next game will be against Regis, Saturday 12:00 at Powell Middle School. Go Warriors!

Girls JV tennis won twice this week defeating Mountain Vista, 6-3 and Littleton, 17-3. JV Gold record is now 6-0. Next match is Tuesday against Heritage.

Hola! Check out the Spanish club Monday April 9th at 2:30 in C-19. Take part in the planning and bringing the Spanish club back to Arapahoe High School. If you like music, soccer and piñatas stop on by! There will even be some snacks! Vengan con nosotros!
